Welcome to August and perhaps the first blog post concerning Lotusphere 2009.
Other than the fact that the kids head back to school (yeah, school!), August also means the opening of registration for Lotusphere 2009. If the past years are any indication, it should open on or around August 15. The call for abstracts should open at about the same time.
As in past years, and for the next 5-10 (someone please correct me), Lotusphere will take place from Sunday, January 18 through Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in sunny Orlando, Florida. Mark your calendars now, if you haven't already done so.
But I have one other item to share from my archives: "Why Go To Lotusphere?" In that post, I provide some links to some excellent resources to help you to "sell" the conference to your management. I know that it is "only" August, but the 15th will be here before you know it, demanding your attention and credit card numbers. Start marketing the conference now.
I fully expect this Lotusphere to be another special event. Lotus Foundations will see its first anniversary. Notes/Domino 8.5 will be out. There is new excitement in the brand, due to press releases such as this. Every Lotusphere is special, and this one will continue that tradition.
Instead of living vicariously through those that are there, come down to Florida and experience it yourself. You'll be glad you did.

@JYR - LOL! I forgot all about that. I would recommend that you submit an abstract for that.
@Rob: Thanks for the link. I looked at some previous Lotusphere posts, and for 'Sphere 2008 and 2007, registration opened in August. I really don't see why they wouldn't continue that.
