One site should not determine a trend, especially this one. However, I think that my past posts on the "State of Lotusphere Housing" has some bearing on recent traffic.
Recently, as in the past several days, I have been getting quite a few hits on a couple of search terms. The first is something along the lines of "Lotusphere accommodations" (no surprise there, as I specifically posted on that). But the ones that have piqued my interest are the ones similar to these:
"lotusphere off-site," or
"lotusphere non-disney"
As I stated at the outset, one site a trend doth not make. But I can't help but wonder: Just how many people will we see this year?
Maybe next year, these people will reserve* a room earlier.
Nah. :-)
* - I don't think that it actually costs you anything to reserve a room. As long as you remember to cancel the reservation ahead of time.

My wife books the room as soon as Lotusphere is announced. There is no penalty if you cancel far in advance.
She had it booked before I came home from work. She got the Lotusphere email and acted immediately.

@Curt: My point exactly. What are you out if you don't go? Nothing but a phone call. But if you are in . . . you aren't scrambling for a room or staying off site.
Smart woman, your wife.

I book it immediately as well. Unfortunately if everyone did that someone would still be off site!
If people are stuck, they should try Priceline. I got a room for 'sphere at the Downtown Disney Hilton for 65 a night back in '03.
