This evening, we were having a blogger dinner/happy hour at a central location in Cleveland. The guest of honor? None other than Ed. And then, this e-mail went out:
Unfortunately due to the weather, Ed's flight was canceled late tonight. He will not make it to Cleveland, but we will keep you informed as to when we reschedule.
But, that didn't stop us from having a good time. It was great to talk to people outside of NEOLUG/client visits/partner events and the like. And I think that our end of the table was having a little more fun than the other. :-) No business was being discussed, that's for sure.
Wait . . . there was some "business" and it had to do with an abstract that probably won't be accepted. Will any of the suspects actually submit it? :-)
Thanks go to Berbee/CDW for picking up the tab and co-ordinating the meeting room/time. Also, thank you to Sara, from IBM, for keeping us informed as to the flight status, putting up with us, and adding much to the conversation. A nicely attended event, with some of the best people in Cleveland. I am glad to be associated with all of them.
[UPDATE:] Ed's day of travel.

@Joanne: I totally forgot about the Fantasy Football draft. That was priceless! For those of you not in attendance, there were 2 things going on at the same time: blogger dinner and a fantasy football draft. Several bloggers got name tags for the draft, until they realized that they didn't know anyone.
@Ed: What a trip! Isn't travel glamorous?
@Andy: In honor of High School Musical 2, we were thinking of Lotus Notes Musical 8.
