10:30AM – 11:45AM | Interface Matters: Designing The
User Experience In The Lotus Notes Client Guest Speaker: Chris Blatnick, Linde Gas Interface design used to be the last thing that Notes developers thought about when building a new application...if they thought about it at all! It was sufficient to just construct an interface that looked like all other Notes applications, often built on standards based on the out-of-the-box Notes templates. But times have changed and users are more demanding than ever. They want applications that work, but that are also highly attractive and usable. To meet this need, Notes developers must put a renewed focus on user interface design and learn how to integrate it into their current processes. In this session, you'll learn why the interface is such an important component of a Notes application, how you can use the "Interface First" design methodology in your environment and see first hand many tips and tricks for designing compelling Notes applications that truly enhance the user experience. We'll jump into concepts such as low-fidelity prototyping and usability testing and see before and after examples that demonstrate why interface matters |

12:00PM – 1:15PM | Development options for the BlackBerry
platform Guest
Speaker: John Wargo, Research in Motion They're everywhere you look: BlackBerry devices delivering mail, telephony and, yes, real live applications to people on the move. Chances are, your organization has BlackBerry users but what have you done to leverage that technology as a window into your Notes applications? John Wargo of RIM (the BlackBerry people) will give us a close look at development options for the BlackBerry platform and then drill down and show specific examples of Domino data access from the BlackBerry. This is important information for any of us with BlackBerry devices (or people in our organization with them). And, wait, it gets better: THERE'S A BRIBE: John will be giving away a BlackBerry at the meeting. Don't miss it! |
