The template that this blog comes from is courtesy of the wonderful people at OpenNTF.org. If you haven't seen their work, I recommend that you head over there to take a look at some of their projects. They have two mail templates that I have recommended to people when the standard Notes templates don't work like they would like them to, or to have specific features that you can't find in the standard Notes templates.
The projects themselves are interesting in that the people that work on them are not bound by time or location. They use the design locking features that come with Domino as well as replication and Instant Messaging to communicate and collaborate with the other project members. That is pretty amazing. These templates are free, but remember to put something in the Tip Jar, and are of high quality. The only drawback that I have found is the lack of documentation, but they make up for it in accessibility to answer questions. All of the people that contributed to each project is listed, and they seem to go out of their way to assist you. That is a very refreshing position.
Take some time and head over to the OpenNTF site. It is time well spent, and you may even find a project that will help you with a specific business need or one that interests you enough to volunteer some of your time.
Ben Rose, Project Manager of the OpenNTF Mail Experience, has actually created a new template based on the R6.5.4 mail template. He wanted to include the 6.5.4 bug fixes and the faster iNotes template. Take a look at that one, if you have upgraded to 6.5.4.
