As you can tell, I have been tagging more of my posts for Technorati. After doing that, I didn't see any changes in Technorati. Then I found Joe's Technorati tip (you may want to check this out if you are using an earlier release of the Blogsphere template). I have since been manually sending a ping to Technorati. Yes, they do show when I last pinged them. No updates to Technorati. I even went so far as to send an e-mail to them asking if I am doing something wrong (like my tags aren't right). No answer (so far).
So what makes me think that it is broken? Back on March 1st, Cem and I posted about marchFIRST and I tagged my post exactly as Cem did his. Nothing from my blog tags shows on Technorati.
So, is it broken or am I really doing something wrong?

Technorati is severely broken. And don't expect any response from the helpdesk either...

I did a Google blog search on 'marchFIRST' and my post didn't make the hit list. Google should be spidering this site, right? It looks like the last time Google came through was February 21, 2006. I don't have to do anything special, do I?

"Remember me" works with Firefox 1.0.7. I think that there may be something wrong with my CSS, and I am not a CSS person.

Technorati is broken. I'm using Blogger, which is supposed to automatically ping Technorati with changes, but more than 24 hours later my Show-n-tell Thursday posts (with tags copied from Ben Poole's post) still aren't showing up. I've even used the "manual ping" on Technorati's site; no joy.

Aside from my FIRST SnTT post, Technorati has never indexed any of my posts automatically after I ping them (and ping and ping and ping and...) .....I did fill out an online form on their site about my site not getting indexed. After a day or so, several of my posts were showing up. None since. I'm thinking that Technorati may not be worth the effort.

It looks to me like us 'late comers' to the Technorati party are invited in, but never asked to dance. Early adopters of the service don't seem to be having this issue. Could it be that the sheer number of sites/content is too much for them to handle any more?

Gregg! This is an excellent topic for discussion. I think Technorati's offerings would be valuable to me if they worked, but I have experienced so many inconsistencies that I now ignore the service altogether; although, I haven't gone so far as to remove the Technorati link from my sidebar. Are you aware of any useful alternatives? Thanks! Troy
