Leveraging ActiveSync will mean that your iPhone users will be able to natively synchronize their Lotus mail, contacts, and calendar on both the Macintosh and PC. Further, Apple will enable a landscape keyboard. option to ease typing. This is excellent news for your iPhone users. And it is great to see another product announced at Lotusphere come to fruition.

I don't get it. Did Apple announce anything about "Lotus Notes Support" and I missed it? I read the article but don't understand the Notes reference. I thought Travely was going to make a Domino sever look like an Exchange server to the iPhone. Where did "desktiop sync" come in? Not that I wouldn't want it. I'm just confused.
I don't understand the article. It mentions Lotus Notes desktop syncing in the same paragraph of the improved Landscape Keyboard. What do they have to do together? If feel like a mistake or joke or something...
Here's the paragraph from the linked article:
Landscape keyboard
A landscape keyboard is now available for email and txt, which will make life easier for thumbers. IBM Lotus Notes desktop sync support has been added for Mac and PC, and also extends to the new landscape keyboard option.

@David: I certainly agree with you on the wording of the article. I knew that there was a reference to Lotus Notes in it, but it took me two reads to actually see it. Strange way of announcing that feature.
Also, I am not sure what to make of the announcement, as nowhere was there a mention of "desktop synch" in the announcement at LS09. Either something has changed, or the press is confusing Traveler/ActiveSynch with some sort of Desktop Manager-like software. Perhaps someone will be able to clarify this for us.

I think someone is mistaking "Notes sync" for "Lotus Notes sync" here.

yeah, they were talking about the "Notes" application on the iPhone syncing back with iTunes. Nothing to do with Lotus Notes.
