As is usually the case with early August, Number Two Son and I travelled to Washington, DC. Primarily, we are there to visit BrickFair, an excellent LEGO convention. However, we also use the time to see the sights in and around the nation's captial. This year, we decided that we would tour the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. As we started the tour, imagine my surpise when I discovered this sitting in a display case:
Back in the 1930's, it certainly appears that IBM decided to get a jump on the "big data," "social business," and "analytics" game.
I don't think I have the stomach for it, but if you'd like to know more about IBM's involvement in Germany around World War II, you can check out IBM and the Holocaust. Because you certainly will not find any mention of this in Making the World Work Better: The Ideas that Shaped a Century and a Company (I know, I looked).
