Presentation and Q & A for Open Mic: "Lotus Traveler (for Android & iPad) - Install, Configure & Admin";, March 10, 201103/15/2011 08:25:28 PM

I don't know about you, but I certainly didn't make the Open Mic: Lotus Traveler for Android and iPad call. It was a little early/late for me. However, IBM Lotus has posted the slides and the Q&A for the call.
Looking at the questions, I now wish that I had set the alarm for 1:00AM (Eastern) to have a few questions addressed. Questions I've posed to IBM but have yet to receive an answer.
The question that piqued my interest was this one:
It's "interesting" to me as IBM Lotus continually refers to the GM case study, presented at Lotusphere 2011, where GM has 1500 users on any one of their Traveler servers. Thus, "number of users are too large, like 400-500" causes me to wonder about the phrase "too large," especially when, during the Open Mic call, they specifically say that the number of users above 500 is tipping the scales. It's these little things that cause me to wonder if we aren't beta testing gold software. Any way, I'm off my little Traveler soapbox. Click the link for the slides and the Q&A.

Q: What is limit to number of users on the Traveler server.
A: There is no such defined limit for the number of users. However if the number of users are too large like 400-500, then consider increasing the HTTP threads using parameter "NTS_MAX_HTTP_THREADS=xxxx" to avoid performance problem [Please refer the link :http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Tuning_performance_of_the_server_LNT8521]. If you still face performance problem after increasing the HTTP threads, then you may need to use the 64 bit version or setup another Traveler server in your environment to divide the load.
