The hardware associated with Lotus Foundations, and promoted on-line, has been put on end-of-life, effective October 31, 2010. What hardware? The description and picture you find here,
From the Hardware withdrawal notice (dated October 26, 2010):
Effective October 31, 2010, IBM will withdraw from marketing the following IBM® System x® products. After this date you can no longer obtain these products directly from IBM.
You can obtain these products on an as-available basis through IBM Business Partners, resellers, or distributors.
The replacement servers do not have the Integrated Disk Backup (IDB) drives, the LCD Control Panel, nor the Disk on Module (DOM) flash drive. It must be noted that the replacement servers do have a more competitive price point, however you must add external USB drives if you expect to take advantage of IDB. As for the loss of the LCD Control Panel, it was a great feature when installing and configuring the server; it will be missed. Finally, losing the DOM means that rapid recovery from a catastrophic event (or to simply reload the operating system), fast boot times and upgrades, shows that there is no differentiation from any other currently available hardware.
