Green Zone isn't supposed to be a tear jerker, but it started out that way. *sigh*

I couldn't agree more. With two brothers having been in the service and many friends in and retired from the Navy & Marines, these always hit home.
You really want to see a grown man cry? Put me in front of that damned Folgers commercial where the soldier comes home at Christmas and wakes up his family making coffee. Timeless.

You don't need to know anyone in the Service to get emotional seeing these commercials, though the volume of tears may vary proportionally with the degree of those connections. Living in Washington, surrounded by folks who make (often bad) decisions that affect the life and death of our service members...well, sometimes you just want to scream, but usually you just cry.

Thanks, Rob. I actually worried about posting this, but figured "what the hell, it's how I feel." I appreciate your comment.
@Kevin, now that Number One Son is a Marine, I understand what other families go through. If he actually gets stationed there, as we expect, you will discover that I will be vacationing there. A lot. And, I keep a close eye on those things that affect our servicemen/women as it now affects me directly.
Thanks for the support.

Gregg, why would you even think twice about posting this? We all know your son is in the Corp and all of us are pulling for him to get home safe.
