Soon, and sadly it could have already occurred, you will lose your "Lotusphere High." You know what I am talking about; the good feelings from Lotusphere, the real friendships, the comradery, the wonder of seeing Ben Zander, etc. So, you sit there wondering "Where did it all go?"
Duffbert and I have a solution. That's right, it's all in a handout.
Stay connected with like-minded 'Spereians by getting your own Twitter account, Sign up for a free account at BleedYellow and point your Sametime client (over port 80) to their IM server. Get on LinkedIn. And head over to The Social Networker for some great tips, tricks, and tools.Yes, we are all out there, in the ether, waiting for you to say "Hello." As you found out, Lotus professionals are easily the most approachable folks on the planet (as long as you don't abuse the connections), and most, if not all, of us are on a social network somewhere.
The handout has all of the links to get you started.
But then what? Well, on Twitter, go to either Duffbert's page or mine. Look at who follows us and who we follow. Click through on names that you recognize and add them to your "following" list. Join in the conversation and let the Lotusphere High hit you every day. You don't have to immediately contribute, you can just follow along. I assure you that at some point you will jump in.
The same holds true for the other social networking sites.
One of the primary reasons I attend Lotusphere is that it is an excellent opportunity to connect with my virtual friends. Now that I have done that, the bonds I have in the virtual world are much stronger. And I live Lotusphere every day.
You can too.

Absolutely a worthwhile tip!
Twitter has seriously helped me not feel so disconnected from the awesome LS folks this year. Easiest transition yet in the 4 years I've been.
