If you are looking at hotel options, this is what it looks like today for Saturday through Friday:
And Sunday through Thursday:
Make your hotel reservations before you get closed out of Disney properties (not that there is anything wrong with any other property).

Wow, still rooms at the Dolphin and Swan - that's a surprise...

I agree with Stuart, normally swan and dolphin are gone early. I'm sure I saw a tweet that like for like bookings were up on last year's, maybe the credit crunch is manifesting in early bookings for the discount, and offsite hotels which are much cheaper.

Interesting news. I'm now trying to see if I can get the OK to register and reserve a room. Hopefully, I'll get an answer before the end of the day today.

Off site hotels are much cheaper and there is space, I spoke with them yesterday.
I have a room booked for $89 and its next to downtown disney, of course I drive up so don't mind a little drive over to the Swan or dolphin.

While staying on-site is the premier option, there is something to be said about a hotel within walking distance of a Disney bus stop at Downtown Disney. Those buses run well into the night, allowing a delegate to "stay and play" at the Dolphin/Swan and know that they will have a ride back to Downtown Disney up until 1:00AM (or so).
Like Keith states, the rooms are cheaper and the amenities are probably better. But you have to work the logistics of travel times to the Dolphin/Swan. Especially if you want to hit an early BoF. I think that the first Disney bus leaves Downtown Disney at 8:30AM (which may change your plans, assuming that you didn't rent/bring a car).
And then there is parking at the Dolphin/Swan. But I think that Keith can also speak to that.

Parking at Swan / Dolphin - is restricted to Swan & Dolphin hotel residents. Of course, if you know someone staying there you can get them to get you a car park pass, as long as you are prepared to pay the daily charge
