If you have been working with Lotus Notes and Domino 8 for a while, I am sure that you have a particular feature that you really like.I realize that there are many new features in both R8 and R8.0.1. For example:
- Domino Web Access Lite
- Traveler
- Message Recall
- Lotus Productivity Tools
- Out of Office as a Service
- Advanced database property to allow compressed design elements.
- Support for Composite Applications
All great, new features.
As impressive those are, and that is but a subset of the entire Release 8 and 8.0.1 list, I have to say that my favorite feature, introduced in R8, is that the synchronization of Contacts was moved to the Replicator page. A really simple feature, but one that makes the users very happy. It is much easier to kick off a replication, or have it scheduled, rather than having to remember to click Actions - Synchronize Address Book.
I admit that it was a shock to discover a "missing" Action, but once you discovered where it had been moved, and trained the users, it made life easier. Simple, natural, and happy users.
What's your single, best feature in Lotus Notes/Domino R8 or R8.0.1?

My favorite Lotus Notes/Domino 8 "feature" is the nice new user interface of the standard client and the mail database. It's simlpy beautiful and has a lot of small improvements (like suggestions of recent contacts in names fields) to make the live easier.
And I really like (and use) the widgets. I've create some for online dictionaries and the Wikipedia and thus can lookup selected words with two mouse clicks.

I haven't deployed R8 to users yet, but I have been using it on my own. I wear three hats -- user support, developer and admin -- so I'll take the liberty of listing three favorite features.
Live Text has to be my absolute favorite feature that is going to have the biggest end user impact, especially as it involves to have even more hooks.
As a developer NotesView.OnSelect is an awesome new event. Now you can trigger stuff to happen on each document change! I'll be doing some blog posts about how to put this to use.
As an administrator, Out of Office as a service is a huge win. The agent has been a pain in my rump for 10 years, and I'm glad to see it die. Now OoO responses are instantaneous, delegation is much simpler, and it automatically turns itself off! Unfortunately it's not supported with R7 clients, but it is even with R8 Basic.
