I have to decompress and also finish some of those posts that I started and saved but didn't publish.
And a book review. :-)
Random Lotusphere Thoughts, in no particular order:
- When checking my bag in Cleveland, I noticed that it weighed 38 pounds. Leaving Orlando today it was 42 pounds. I'm still trying to figure out how I added those 4 pounds. You are thinking swag, right? I added 2 t-shirts (C.U.L.T and the Lotusphere shirt), a pad of Lotusphere paper, and the Lotusphere backpack. No other swag.
- Small World Department: I wore a Great Lakes Brewery t-shirt Tuesday. Walking through the Product Showcase, that day, one of the vendors asked me if I was from Cleveland. Not only was the person from Cleveland, he is from my little town AND his Mom has taught one of my kids in school.
- I bought an additional battery for my Palm, prior to leaving. I never used it and it was still in its original packaging. I have the packaging, but not the battery. Where is it? You would have to ask some people in the Orlando airport.
- There was one person that I am sorry that I did not see nor get to meet. David Gewirtz. I even brought his book with me, hoping for an autograph. Is that geeky, or what?
- I love sitting at breakfast or lunch and engaging the people at the table. The Lotus Community is filled with wonderful and interesting people.
- A box of detergent is $1.00, a washer is $2, and a dryer is $2. I thought that was a little "steep." Yes, I did laundry. I only brought clothes for three days.
- You will need to spend $4 to dry your clothes as one, 30 minute dry cycle will not be enough.
- Speaking of laundry, did you know that even at 2:00AM, you may not be the only person in the laundromat? Tuesday was a L-O-N-G day.
- The reception that I attended Tuesday evening was probably the most fun anyone could possibly have outside of Jellyrolls or Kimono's. I think that I have thanked all of the people involved in inviting me.
- Caribbean Beach is nice, but it is so large, it has its own bus system. One poor soul needed to get the resort to pick her up in the morning, she was so far from the shuttle bus.
- Running into Turtle outside the CLP Lounge. I said "hi," and he said "Gregg, it's nice to see you." Big deal, you say? It was three years ago that I introduced myself to him. I was astounded.
- Christopher Byrne is no dummy. Goody's Headache Powder is wonderful! Dragging at the start of the day, this stuff will perk you right up.
- Don McNally shared with me a most amazing short cut in the Swan. I will never forget that.
- It took me two days to remember the short cut from the Dolphin to the Yacht and Beach.
- IBM not providing a hard copy of the BoF's wasn't good. Thanks to Ben for providing an alternative.
- There was a lot of great discussions in all of the BoF's I attended. My two takeaways from them were that Jess is a great facilitator and Alan must have a knack for herding cats.
- I don't think that I have enough hours in the day to catch up with the blogging coverage of Lotusphere. Even with Planet Lotus.
- Phil and I had a defective boat but the Boat Races were still a lot of fun. Even though they timed us with a calendar.
BTW - no rest for me. Tomorrow, I am installing a new Domino 8 server for a client. That's right new. As in, they have nothing now and will be running Notes and Domino 8. Right after Lotusphere. Pinch me, am I dreaming?

Thanks for the mention and the comment. I was glad to meet you and hang out. Maybe I'll catch you on one of my trips over to Cleveland.
