Earlier this week (or late last week), I read a little article that said that most people never read a book per year. Looking back, I read and reviewed 45 books (46, really, but I didn't finish the final review before the calendar turned to 2008). Some people, including members of my family, wonder how I can read so much. My secret is that I don't watch much television and I am not into XBox. You'd be surprised how much time you have when you aren't in front a television.
Looking back at the books I read in 2007, I would have to say that these stayed with me, long after I finished them:
The Worst Hard Time
The Wild Trees (one family member can't believe that I STILL talk about the "Tree Book")
Heart Shaped Box
Bad Monkeys
and, believe it or not, Where Have All the Emails Gone?
Thanks to Duffbert nudging me, I finally started posting on Amazon, interacted with some authors, and actually was given reviewer's copies of several books. To Tom, reviewers copies are a matter of course. But I have found that they widen my horizons as I would have normally just passed by those books or topics.
More books in 2008? Well, it is only the first of January, but I am ten chapters into a book, so I think that I have started the year off right. :-)
