Since I allow other, more intelligent people determine some of my purchases, I listened to Sean and bought a pair of Keen Austin's. His review of these shoes really meant a lot to me, and I was not disappointed when I slipped them on.
After a hard walk on Saturday, where my feet were none too pleased with me, I spent $89 at The Backpackers Shop and haven't worn any other shoes since Sunday. Too bad I didn't have them earlier, when I was strolling through some wet grass at a cross country meet (my socks were wet after that, and it wasn't pleasant) and then going on several hikes (not too strenuous, but still, footwear makes all the difference).
Yes, they are as comfortable as Sean says that they are. Do your feet a favor and check these shoes out; they are worth every cent.

I have a trip coming up where I'll be doing a LOT of walking, and all the shoes I currently have aren't very good for that. After reading first Sean's rave review and then yours I went and tried the Keen Austin. Unfortunately it is cut pretty high and hit my ankle. I went with the Lisbon instead and absolutely love them! http://www.keenfootwear.com/product_detail.aspx?sku=1433 I'll definitely be wearing them to Lotusphere.

@Charles - My wife wants me to buy "something else" because I wear these shoes nearly everywhere. I admit that they don't go with everything, but they are just so darned comfortable. And when I wear regular tennis shoes, they feel "funny." The other interesting offshoot of these shoes is that I have had people comment on them (which never happened with any of my other shoes) as if I am in a secret society or something. Those people all start the conversation the same way: "Aren't they the most comfortable shoes?"
I am glad that both you and Rich checked them out.
