Location : Cleveland, OH
My evening commute was made a little more stressful than usual. Okay, maybe a lot more.
I usually do not answer calls to my cell that come from "unknown" numbers. Those are the Caller ID entries that come up "Unknown" on the display. But, I was stopped at a light when the call came in. I answered.*
Welcome to episode 57 of the Taking Notes Podcast. I am Bruce Elgort.
What? You aren't recording this, are you?
Yes, we're recording.
Silence.
You have got to be kidding me. Who would want to hear anything that I have to say? Aren't I supposed to hear some beeps, or something?
Not when we're recording.
You're joking. Right?
You have your Bluetooth headset on, don't you?
Uh, no. I left the house without it today.
That's not very safe.
It was at this point that Bruce tells me that he is joking. I think that I nearly had an "accident," and not the kind that includes other vehicles.
Damn that Skype. BTW - this isn't the first time that Bruce and I have linked up, with him using Skype and me on a mobile. I am extremely impressed with the crystal clear connectivity. And it didn't seem like there was any lags in the conversation. I may have to think about getting a Skype account. Yeah, it was that good.
We are trying to line up speakers for our next NEOLUG meeting, and we'd like to have OpenNTF (one of my favorites) present. Hopefully, we will be able to swing the logistics.
* - Since I was driving, these are not exact quotes (what? you expect me to talk, drive, AND write?), but rather paraphrased as best I remember. He did shock me. And I made that crystal clear to him. :-)

@Andy: We may have to check with the State of Ohio, but yes, that is what we are hoping for.
