One of the stranger errors to grace your Notes screen is the one that you see below:
Of course, when it pops up, people automatically think that this is a Notes error. Assert in LSP is not something that you will see everyday, but if you do, this should help.
How do you rid yourself of this? How about uninstalling Google Desktop instead of uninstalling Notes? Yes, crazy as that sounds, this is an error that comes from Google Desktop. The fix for this is to install Google Desktop 4.5 ("5.0.0611.15590"), which is available here.

Had a customer blaming us for a not working notes client a couple of weeks ago. He'd "changed nothing" to his config, no new software at all. After 30 minutes he had to admit to installing a "bar" (the google bar) and after that notes didn't work *sigh*
thanks for the tip though, this error didn't mean a thing to me at first.

Thanks I was trying to load Lotus 6.5 ona new windows vista machine which it is not supposed to be compatable with and thought the error was part of this.The removal of Google desktop solved the problem right away.
