This is the time of the year when Annual Reports are sent out to shareholders. My favorite one, up until recently, was the Disney Annual Report. It wasn't so much for the financials, but rather the Letter to the Shareholders that Michael Eisner writes. I really enjoy his style. However, this year, I read Warren Buffett's Letter and I find this one better. Warren is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He writes in a similar style to Michael, but it seems more personal. One of the best sections dealt with why he seems to always be on the Audit Committee when he is elected to the Board of Directors. You can read Warren's letter here. Michael's last Letter can be found here.
The other "humorous" part of the Berkshire Hathaway report is when Warren writes about attending the Shareholders Meeting in Omaha. All of the things that you can do, where to eat, and, more importantly, the places to shop while you are in Omaha. It really strikes me as an Event, to attend the Shareholders Meeting. You certainly do not get that level of writing in a lot of other Annual Reports. It is definitely worth your time to read his comments.
